What does the year of the Rat have in store for you?

If you’re into the typical astrology charts, you may know some of the basics…Geminis are born in June, fire signs don’t jibe with water signs, that kind of thing. But in the Chinese Zodiac, you’re not given a sign for the month, but rather the year of your birth. The Chinese zodiac assigns an animal each year, and that animal will determine your fortune for the year.

This year, we’re in the year of the Rat!

                                                                                                           Did someone call me?

Since this is the year of the rat, we’d love to share how this little fella is going to influence your fate for the year!

What is the Year of the Rat?

The Year of the Rat is the first sign in the Chinese zodiac. According to the Chinese zodiac story, there was a race to determine which animal would lead the pack. The rat, with his quick wit, asked the ox to haul him across the river, but he jumped down before the ox crossed the finish line, and the rat won the race. Rats, like their furry counterparts, are quick and smart, but lack a bit of courage. Lucky charms for the Year of the Rat can be found in the numbers two and three, the colors gold, blue, and green. Stay away from things with yellow or brown hues, as well as the numbers five and nine.

What’s Your Zodiac Animal?

The Chinese Zodiac uses your birth year, not the month, to determine your destiny, so it’s a little trickier to figure out your spirit animal. To help, here’s a chart that will pinpoint your animal and a few traits that you may recognize:
