Speak Your Fans’ Love Language – Receiving Gifts

We’re blazing through the Love Languages, and while we admit that the first two were tricky, we’re bringing you an easy one today. Welcome to Day 3: Receiving Gifts.

For Your Fans

Because ‘gift’ is a rather broad term, let’s break it down and talk about how to make your gift truly mean something.

Content, content, content!

Back in the video series we did with MelRose, she talked about how sending one piece of free content can build trust and help you create your sales funnel. Why? Here’s a quick recap:

  • It introduces fans to the DM feature
  • Free content makes your fans feel VERY special
  • They are much, much more likely to unlock content from you in the future, now that they know how DMs work. They’re also more likely to check out your Clips!

The same holds true here, and this is a great opportunity to put that plan into practice. Record a short video to DM your fans. Make it personal, heartfelt, and super hot, of course! Then, following that video, share a second message reminding them how much amazing content is in your Clips on FanCentro (which will be rolled out to fans starting Friday, February 28th, i.e. tomorrow!!!).

Recognize them

A gift doesn’t have to be a grand gesture, it just has to mean something, and one tiny thing that means a BIG something is personal recognition. A great idea is to use your platform to personally call on a fan. Someone gave you a nice tip? Thank them at the start of your next show (even if you have to be slick about it to avoid naming names). Get creative so they know who they are. Hearing that will be the gift that keeps on giving.

In Your Relationship

When it comes to pleasing the receiver of gifts in your relationship, think about the old adage that good things come in small packages. You don’t have to shower your partner in gifts to make them love you, you just have to acknowledge that you understand that this is what speaks to them.

Thoughtfulness First

We talked a little bit about doing your homework and being observant in our Acts of Service post, and Receiving Gifts falls along the same lines. Watch your partner and see what is meaningful to them. It could be a book they mentioned, a particular candy they like, or even a favorite flower. Showing them that you hear them is what is going to make the gift unforgettable.

Be Grand (Once in a while)

Okay, you can’t be in a relationship with a gift-lover without going all out once in a while! If there’s a birthday looming or some other special occasion you don’t want to miss, feel free to get grandiose without busting your budget. It’s going to mean SO MUCH more to a gift receiver, so you’ll have the confidence of knowing that your gesture will definitely be appreciated!

Being in a relationship with a gift receiver, doesn’t have to bust your budget, but having a gift receiver as a fan can certainly benefit it! Take some time to create a sweet freebie and watch the rewards roll in!
